Our Service
DAISY and MP3 audio recordings of print material for people who have a print-disability. The service is free to individuals and provided by volunteer readers. Agencies are charged a fee and the service is provided by paid staff.
Eligibility
- Print-disabled students at any Ontario Ministry of Education funded educational institution.
- Individuals who have trouble reading due to vision impairment; a learning disability; or a mobility condition.
- Agencies needing audio versions of their print material.
Type of Material
- Students: Textbooks and other assigned reading material.
- Agencies & Individuals: Professional publications; job search & training material; conference materials; government documents & reports; health studies; equipment manuals; novels; cookbooks; travel, entertainment, leisure brochures; etc.
Cost
- English: $145.00 per recorded hour
- French: $155.00 per recorded hour
- Students are covered by a contract with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
- Print-disabled individuals: Free.
