Our Service

DAISY and MP3 audio recordings of print material for people who have a print-disability. The service is free to individuals and provided by volunteer readers. Agencies are charged a fee and the service is provided by paid staff.

Eligibility

  • Print-disabled students at any Ontario Ministry of Education funded educational institution.
  • Individuals who have trouble reading due to vision impairment; a learning disability; or a mobility condition.
  • Agencies needing audio versions of their print material.

Type of Material

  • Students: Textbooks and other assigned reading material.
  • Agencies & Individuals: Professional publications; job search & training material; conference materials; government documents & reports; health studies; equipment manuals; novels; cookbooks; travel, entertainment, leisure brochures; etc.

Cost

  • English: $145.00 per recorded hour
  • French: $155.00 per recorded hour
  • Students are covered by a contract with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
  • Print-disabled individuals: Free.

  • Submit copy of document.

Priorities

  • April 1 - August 14: Summer school recordings for students, publications for agencies, and recordings for individuals.
  • August 15 - March 31: Course material for students and publications for agencies.
